CONSISTENT WORK REAPS REWARDS.
To get the most out of these plyometric workouts, we encourage athletes to get to all three workouts each week. Monday’s will be acceleration focused, Tuesday’s will emphasize lateral & change of direction, while Wednesday’s will consist sprinting and jumping with max velocity & effort.

Why plyometric work matters:
Plyometric workouts are important for athletes because they enhance explosive power, speed, agility, and overall athletic performance.
1. Improved Explosive Power
Plyometrics involve rapid stretching and contracting of muscles (the stretch-shortening cycle), which helps athletes generate more force in a shorter time. This is critical for actions like sprinting, jumping, and throwing.
2. Increased Speed and Agility
These workouts train the neuromuscular system to fire quickly and efficiently. This improves an athlete’s ability to accelerate, decelerate, and change direction—skills essential in almost every sport.
3. Enhanced Coordination and Balance
Many plyometric exercises require body control and spatial awareness. Over time, this builds neuromuscular coordination and balance, helping athletes move more efficiently and avoid injury.
4. Improved Muscular Efficiency
Plyometrics improve the communication between the brain and muscles (neuromuscular efficiency), which translates to quicker, more efficient movements with less energy expenditure.
5. Injury Prevention
When done correctly and progressively, plyometrics strengthen muscles, tendons, and ligaments, especially around the knees and ankles. This enhances joint stability and reduces the risk of injury.
6. Sport-Specific Performance Gains
Different sports require different movement patterns. Plyometric drills can be tailored to mimic specific actions—like a basketball player's vertical jump or a soccer player's sprint and cut—making the training directly applicable to real-game scenarios.
